Paintings
I began painting again after sculpting for the past 25 years. Some works are an extension of Project Peace and make commentary on conventional and chemical warfare.
To day, we are waging war against COVID-19. I created a small Covid Series in response to the Pandemic and the Stay-at-Home order. Each small work is an expression of my new time, space and existence.
New paintings come from the series, Migration, which is meant to convey the concept of moving and opportunity. The media migrates on the canvas just as the human race migrates to better opportunities. The aesthetic and conceptual choices are deliberate yet rely on chance for positive outcomes. The titles reflect the overall theme for these works, e.g., Land of Milk and Honey… and The Promised Land. Migration reflects historical emigration and equal opportunity for new generations.
